Hayden vs. The Sheep

At the festival Hayden thought it would be fun to try out the Muttin' Bustin' event. He moved into the leader position but was quickly over taken by a girl, we think she smiled extra big at the judges for an additional point or two. But Hayden had fun trying and got a trophy for his effort and said he would be in the next go round even though he had dirt in his teeth...enjoy

Strawberry Festival

This Sunday we spent the day at the Strawberry Festival and had a blast. Hayden won two fish, rode tons of rides, got some cool glasses and tried his luck at riding a sheep (see above). Meanwhile Riley enjoyed the view from the stroller or grandma or grandpa's arms whichever happened to be free at the moment...

Easter

Well - it has been a while since Easter but I never got around to posting - It was a rainy morning but the Easter Bunny managed to hide all the eggs inside. Hayden was very relieved to see that the Easter Bunny had gotten into the house. He had even reminded us to turn off the alarm so EB wouldn't have 'any problems' getting in :)

Here is Ms. Riley hunting eggs in the house

Hayden got WAY excited when he would find the eggs

Just to cute for words sometimes...

Meeting Wyatt

Wyatt Aaron Hoffart joined the world on Thursday, April 9th at 6:40 am weighing in at 7lbs 3.5 oz and 20" long. We are so excited for Emily and Jacob - he is such a sweet baby.

Moments after he was born

We actually went up to the hospital on Wednesday night hoping we might get to meet him but he had a mind of his own so we got to meet him Saturday. Hayden LOVED getting to hold him. We were there for about an hour and Mark and I only got to hold him for a few minutes each - Hayden had him the rest of the time. I am sure he was thinking about all the fun boy things he can teach him.

Another fun tradition - egg dying

Every year we have a big time dying Easter Eggs and this year was no different. It was really fun because both kiddos got in on all the fun :) Mom bought a fun paint kit for the kiddos to use and they put it to good use. Hayden really liked the idea of 'painting' his eggs and Riley really liked the idea of making a BIG mess!! But when they were all done the eggs came out super cute.

Easter Parties

Today both the kiddos had their Easter Egg hunts at school.

Hayden was up first and I think this was one of the most chaotic egg hunts I have ever been to. Right before they "released" the kids they started chanting "We want eggs, We want eggs!" It was comical. Hayden was so funny he ran all over the field but kept counting to make sure he didn't go past his 12 - such a serious egg hunter.

All ready for the hunt...

It's like a "Where's Hayden" picutre -

Then it was onto Riley's parade and hunt later in the day. She was not to sure about the parade or the egg hunt but after Hayden showed her what egg hunting was all about she quickly got in on the action.

Very excited about seeing what is inside all the eggs :)

Canton aka Girls Trip

Well I had so much fun the past few days up in Canton. We stayed at a gorgeous house - hosted by the sweetest girl you will ever meet, Cass I can't thank you enough for having us. We had an absolute blast shopping, getting toe rings and our toes painted. I can say however after day two my feet were ready for a little relief from all the fun :) We all got some of the cutest stuff for our houses and kiddos - I can't wait to go again. Thanks for a great weekend girls...

The girls - ready for day 1 - including the best 22 mth old shopper Drea!!

Spring Break Recap

Oh my, what a week we had!! We had our very own 'staycation' :) Hayden created a list of thing he wanted to do and we got to about 7 of the 12!!

First Hayden got to go camping with the Knox's. Even if they didn't see any bears Hayden had a fantastic time. A big thanks to the Knox's for letting him tag along and for giving him a reason to learn how to ride his bike!
On Wednesday we headed to Space Center which was a lot of fun. We went on the tram tour this time and got to see all of the fun real space stuff: Mission Control, Practice Facility and Rocket Park. I can't believe it but they actually put the shuttle inside a building, I remember all the times my grandpa took me to see the shuttle when family would visit and now I am taking my kiddos, crazy!

I will have to find them but I have several pictures of me in front of this same rocket

Riley and dad getting ready for the tram ride

Hard to tell but that is Hayden standing in front of Mission Control - he thought that was big stuff

Next we took in a little putt putt down in Clear Lake. Hayden liked this course way better than the one in Pearland, but I think he really liked the rock wall inside.

Celebrating a good shot

Riley watching, not sure about what was going on

Thursday we headed to Kemah with the Knox's and the Chen's. We had a great lunch at the Aquarium followed by quite the day on the Boardwalk. All the kids got wristbands to ride but we had mixed reactions to the rides. But as usual Hayden was all in for all the rides. The moms even got in on one ;)

Friday we headed out to the Children's Museum. They have made a number of changes and we loved every one of them. Hayden liked the new Power Up card and all the exercise, I mean fun things to go along with that. Ms. Riley loved the expanded Tot Spot, she was very sad when it was time to go. We will definitely have to go back there soon.

Hayden and Riley loving each other! This is my new favorite pic!

After lunch at the park and short nap for Riley we headed to the Aeros game. We had never been together to a game and everyone had a great time. Riley couldn't get enough of the Mascot, Chilly and Hayden loved cheering on the team. Unfortunately, they lost in a 12 round shot out!!

So that was our staycation, all and all I think we all had a great time!!
